Swing Arm Curtain Rod Installation
Commonly, installing a swing arm curtain rod will require two rods, but most manufacturers have included the additional accessories in the purchase. Other than the tow rods, other necessary accessories include 2 finials, 2 brackets, and mounting hardware. You can follow the following procedures in order to install them properly.

Three Simple Steps for Swing Arm Curtain Rod Installation

# Step 1: determine the perfect place the bracket will be mounted. If you intend to install the rod outside the window/door casing, please make sure that the rod do not interfere the mounted items. If you intend to install bracket onto woodwork, it is recommended to pre-drill some holes for the screws before the installation begins, use the proper drill to avoid splitting.

# Step 2: simply hold the bracket at the desired location; mark the approximate center of upper and lower slots of the bracket. You do not have to do this step when installing on woodwork. You need to check for wall studs of the marked holes at first. If you hit wall stud, back out and continue to check the rest of the available holes. Since the measurement or the marks are based on the bracket, you will have to ensure that all holes hit wall studs. When you find certain hole that does not hit wall stud when you drive the screw in, you will need wall anchors. Remember that picture anchors are not good enough for this matter. You need to use much better wall anchors for the best result. Once the necessary wall anchors are installed, please proceed to step three.

#Step 3: make sure that you are holding the brackets and tightening the screws while the rod is at level position. Once the poles are all in level positions remove them from the brackets and secure the length. Install finials to the rods.

Hints:  you should only use the shortest finials; it reduces the possibilities of overlapping issues.

If you think that the proper place for mounting is very difficult to reach, you will need the helps of professional for installation. Although you will spend some additional expenses for the installation cost, you can be sure that the strength and the quality of the installation will last longer.
